About The Wisdom Space

The Wisdom Space was founded in 2020, originally as a Community Interest Company, with a simple but unwavering belief at its core: this work matters. As one community member, Ralph, so beautifully expressed:

“I’m excited by this enterprise; I consider it essential.
If it didn’t exist, it would have to be invented…”

From the beginning, The Wisdom Space has been shaped not only by ideas, but by stories—personal narratives, shared experiences, and the deeper mythologies that help us make sense of what it means to be human. Storytelling weaves through everything I do: it is how we connect, how we remember, and how we transform.

In 2026, my path evolved again. I was awarded a scholarship and a PhD place to study wisdom—an invitation that reshaped both my work and my life. At the same time, I found myself immersed in storytelling more deeply than ever before: serving as a former Bard of Bath, and writing my first book exploring mythology and meaning.

It became clear that to honour this next chapter—to give the research, the stories, and the practice the depth they deserve—I needed to simplify what surrounded it.

So I made a conscious and intentional decision: The Wisdom Space transitioned from a CIC to a sole trader structure, continuing to trade as The Wisdom Space. This shift reduced administrative demands and created more space—time, energy, and attention—for what truly matters: deep inquiry, meaningful connection, and the living practice of wisdom.

While the structure has changed, the heart of the work remains the same. I am as committed as ever to community, to accessible participation, and to creating spaces where people feel safe, seen, and supported.

Because at its core, this work is about coming together—through conversation, reflection, and story—to explore what it means to live wisely, and well.

Values

  • Community over performance: connection is a form of healing and resilience.
  • Wisdom is lived, not performed: we make meaning together—gently and honestly.
  • Research-informed and human-centred: wisdom should hold both depth and practicality.
  • Accessibility matters: affordable participation is part of the mission.
  • Respectful dialogue: different perspectives are held with warmth and integrity.
  • Nature as teacher and guide: the natural world is a profound source of wisdom, inviting us to learn from her rhythms and resilience.
