Seasonal celebrations
For the past three years, Michelle and Sue have been walking the Wheel of the Year together — gathering in the woods to honour the turning of the seasons and explore what it means to live in closer relationship with nature.
These days have become spaces of connection, reflection, and renewal — shaped by firelight, story, silence, and shared presence.
From Beltane 2026, we will be pausing these seasonal celebration days in their current form.
This pause reflects a natural deepening of our respective paths — I am beginning a fully funded PhD in Cultivating Wisdom and the Power of Elder Life Stories at the University of Southampton, and Sue is furthering her training in depth psychology and eco-therapy.
While this chapter is closing, the work continues in new forms — including our ongoing Soul Seeds Fire Circle and occasional pop-up gatherings in the woods.
These seasonal rhythms also remain part of my personal practice on a Druid path, and I will continue to mark the turning of the year through local sacred sites and with the Sulis Grove in Bath.
The Wheel of the Year
Our seasonal gatherings were rooted in the Wheel of the Year — a cycle drawn from Celtic, Nordic, and earth-based traditions like Druidry, marking the solstices, equinoxes, and midpoints between.
Living more consciously with this cycle invites us to slow down and reconnect with natural rhythms, offering a counterbalance to the fast pace and fragmentation of modern life. Through this cycle, we are reminded that life itself moves in seasons: of growth, rest, release, and renewal.
During each of our seasonal days, we offered:
- shared fire circles and guided reflection
- meditation and gentle movement
- nourishing seasonal food and herbal teas
- nature-based creative practices
- journaling and quiet time in the woods
- moments of stillness, presence, and connection
Looking ahead
While Seasonal Celebrations are pausing in their current form, the spirit of this work continues.
You are warmly invited to stay connected through:
- Soul Seeds Fire Circle (monthly gathering)
- occasional woodland pop-up events
- or by getting in touch to host a seasonal day for your own private group — we have hosted these for organisations as a grounding alternative to the usual team day experience with some testamonials to prove it!
“All I can say is magic! There was something about sitting around the fire, maybe Cacao Mastery. It was so beautiful a lovely feeling of belonging! Thank you for a wonderful day in the woods. The experience was amazing and meeting everyone was more than I could have imagined. I can’t wait for the next gathering”
“Michelle & Sue hosted my team during a transformational day at The Wise Woods Project. The space Michelle and Sue hled gave us the opportunity to look inward and nurture ourselves as individuals first and then to come together as a more cohesive team. We left refreshed and renewed!
