Books for Wisdom
“Books can be dangerous. The best ones should be labeled ‘This could change your life.’”
Helen Exley
These are the works that have shaped my journey, and the authors whose words have quietly influenced the creation of The Wisdom Space.
I created The Wisdom Space in response to a growing sense of disconnection—from ourselves, from each other, and from the natural world. My work is rooted in a simple intention: to explore what truly matters, and to reconnect with inner wisdom, shared insight, and the wisdom of nature.
This collection is an extension of that intention. Each book has been chosen for the way it opens something up—offering perspective, depth, and the possibility of transformation. Many have been shared with me by community members and Elders I’ve worked with through life review, each offering reflections from lives deeply lived.
You can explore and purchase these books through the links below via Bookshop.org, a B-Corp supporting independent bookshops. I also gently encourage you to seek them out in your local library, or to discover them second-hand, allowing their wisdom to continue its journey.
And if a book has ever stayed with you, I’d love to hear—please do share your recommendations in the box below!
Featured book of the season
Wintering by Katherine May
Here is what Heather had to say “This wonderful book guides the reader through a different way to experience the darker months of the year as well as darker times in life in general. After reading it, I wished I had been able to tap into her insights and wisdom much sooner as it would have helped me through darker times in my life. The sort of times that we all try to navigate through. Such an uplifting reaffirming read. I know I will want to read this book again and again to extract every bit of wisdom especially at this time of year.”
